I have always been a massive fan of 5 star hotels no matter where they are in the world as they are known to provide a quality of service and ambience that no other environment can generally offer. Having tried various places for breakfast with my breakfast buddy, we decided to 'splash out' as we were about to celebrate my birthday in luxury style. The Berkeley Hotel is a very special hotel; elegant and stylish (with a rooftop swimming pool!), located in the heart of one of London's most affluent areas, Knightsbridge, and opposite Hyde Park, one really could not ask for more.

The Berkeley is famed for it's Marcus Wareing Restaurant that has been awarded 2 Michelin Stars but we'll save that for another time and for another meal of the day. :) (Please visit http://londoneateries.wordpress.com/ for other restaurants that I have recommended and when I do go to Marcus Wareing, I will be sure to feature it on there as well.)

In the meantime, breakfast at The Caramel Room is the type of breakfast that you would want to go and eat for a special treat - be it for a birthday or the celebration of any special occasion, you will not be disappointed. Excellent quality food and service are part and parcel of the deal! A great way to start your day in plush surroundings with an unparalleled ambience, it's like being on holiday any time of the year.

My breakfast buddy and I wanted to try the Japanese breakfast, for the heck of it, :) but we are going to do that when we go back next time. We decided that we were probably not hungry enough, nor in the right frame of mind for that experience so we opted for the more 'traditional' options. I tried the Belgian Waffles with seasonal fruits and maple syrup and I tell you, it was just super! I highly recommend it!

So dear readers, if you have a special occasion coming up or you just want to celebrate being alive or indeed, spend some hard earned cash, go and savour a delightful breakfast at The Caramel Room in The Berkeley Hotel!

Don't forget to tell me how it was! :)

'Til next time...

Bon appétit! xx
